What is cryptocurrency?
This is also a form of currency and money that is stored in electronic form in online digital accounts. It is used all over the world in the same form. This is not an asset of any particular country while it could be transacted in the whole world without the permission of the government.
It does not exist in any physical shape or appearance, it is stored in banking money electronic files based on binary data. A famous term is used in cryptocurrencies is dApp that stands for decentralized application. It means that this currency is not handled by a single person or organization and this is called peer-to-peer function. The most famous and top cryptocurrency is BitCoin (BTC) that was launched on Jan 3, 2009, by Satoshi Nakamoto.
The word Crypto means Hidden or Secret and Currency means Money. These currencies are secured by Cryptography. It means that the transactions message becomes fully encrypted when it transfer.
What is cryptography?
Cryptography is so useful term that uses in the transaction of cryptocurrencies. The word cryptography is related to two Greek words. The word Crypto mean Secret and Hidden and Graphy means Draw and Write. This is actually is a method of transaction that makes it secure to transection and encrypt the messages. As a reference, you can consider it the same as Steemit keys which are encrypted and protected but it is not peer-2-peer, I just mentioned it as a reference.
This is so safe and secure way to transfer money with full encryption and the encrypted message could be only decrypted using keys that make cryptocurrencies more trustable and secure and this prevents the access of the third parties. The only receiver can decrypt the message using a private key otherwise anyone could not access the decrypted message without permission.
There are two types of keys which use commonly in the crypto wallet.
- Public Key: This key represents the wallet address.
- Private Key: This key is used to secure ad successful transaction.
How does it work?
It uses both keys to complete the process. When a currency is transferred to another account then the transactions message becomes encrypted through a public key and the information becomes totally encrypted. The message is decrypted by using the private key.
