OLD SCHOOL >>OIL PRESS <<
How do you distinguish boys from men? It depends from were you get your oil, from the supermarket or do you press it yourself.
This beauty is a oil press from the 1900's, this was when boys would go to play in the sand, while men would push levers all day, to extract the oil from the sunflower seed. The oil necessary for one whole year for the homestead.
It is made from a oak tree that had to be at least 100 years old, and needed to be naturally dried for 4 years, so that it didn't influence the taste of the oil.
So how did a normal day of pressing look you may ask? Joy, alcohol, sweat and storytelling... it was a social event between families.
