Greetings CCC community and the contest week of “what the letter C stands for”. This week I bring you my "C". which to me is the flowering cactus. This is the flower of the cactus “Mammillaria Prolifera and Gracilis”

It has been a long time since this cactus last shared its beautiful flower with me so this week I want to share it with the nature lovers in the community.

It’s a cactus of only 15 cm high and the flower is not very big, it measures about 1 cm. The color of the flower varies from soft yellow to beige, its petals are thin yellow agglomerated filaments. The petals are multiple and oblong in shape and open to reveal their yellow pistils.

It’s a cactus that in a tropical climate can be maintained perfectly since it doesn’t need much care, just a substrate with perlite that drains the water and a lot of sun and little water. It’s not a plant that is invaded by pests or harmful insects, so if you have a suitable climate you can have it in a cactus collection.
