I decided to visit Bankya, which is part of Sofia.
Bankya is a city in Sofia region. It is a famous balneological center.
The resort is a national center for the rehabilitation of patients with cardiovascular diseases and for the prevention of the endangered ones.
In 1969 the village of Bankya was declared a town and in 1979 it was separated, together with the adjacent villages, as an area of Sofia.
At the beginning of the last century, many sanatoriums were built there but for a number of reasons the buildings were not maintained and allowed to self-destruct.
