Technological development, shrinking life expectancy and infertility

Dear steemians (got it right this time, I have been using steemites all along), its 6am here and I am driven to write on this topic.

I read with amusement a recent publication stating that the life expectancy of an average Nigerian is 40 years. No wonder a large percentage of the #Nigerian youths behave irrationally, extremely promiscuous and gormless. Perhaps they are suffering from what scientists refer to as middle-life crisis. Even though I have not checked up on the average life expectancy of humans generally, I believe it is generally moving down south.

For those that believe in the creationist theory, life expectancy in the early days of creation ran into thousands of years. Imagine a human living for thousands of years. Why then is the life expectancy reducing? It is not a mere coincidence that the waning life expectancy coincides with technological advancement. Every breakthrough in technology comes with its price. From eating fresh fruits and flesh of games hunted by early men, technology has evolved and several processed foods are now accessible by a snap of finger. Gone are those days when men will have to trek thousands of miles to deliver messages or execute a task, of course there is no gainsaying about how easy it is now to journey around the world. The advent of sophisticated medical equipment, electronics, telecommunication and several other technological advancement have led to increased in radiation around us. These radiations reduces life spans and fecundity of human. Just imagine the amount of radiation coming from the tv, bulbs, washing machines, cokers, mobile phones and many other household equipment not to mention those in processed foods that we directly consume

Therefore, it is of little surprise that more and more humans are becoming infertile and life spans are becoming shorter. This is a price we pay for inventing machines that make our lives easier.
