Is "STEEMIT" or the STEEM Logo Under Copyrights?

     In preparation for my upcoming Steemit promotion at the SCSU university, I wanted to get some custom clothing made with the printed "STEEMIT'" and the STEEM logo. But when I was calling around places to see if they could give me what I was searching for, the same question and problem kept coming up. 

"Is your design copyrighted?"

Unfortunately I don't know this answer. 

I searched in many places, including under the couch and it’s just not there.

What I did come up with though was this upload to GitHub from user 'mahnunchik'

    Now, when I look at this, and correct me if I’m wrong, but unless the word STEEMIT or the logo is generated by the code, then there really shouldn't be a copyright on it... 

AM I RIGHT?!

But this isn't really what I desired. I really would like something explicitly stating

"The word "STEEMIT" and Steem Logo are not under copyrights and free to use" 

Although I’m probably just going to get it done anyway, I really wouldn't want the Founders to come hunt me down in a year if this STEEMIT blows beyond FB!
