I read the column of Alex Magno of the Philippine Star today, Jan. 2, 2020, and I am posting it here on Steemit hoping it gets a bigger coverage which it deserves.

Not everyone in my country subscribes to The Philippine Star. What more for those who are working abroad who do not have immediate access to these op-eds and are quite busy doing their jobs, they wouldn't have the time of day. I would like this article to have a wider visibility through our community, Steemit. Hopefully my countrymen in other parts of the world may read this column and be proud to be a Pilipino. It's a write up about what's happening to my country, the Philippines, under the presidency of the former mayor of Davao City, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. I consider this to be a very accurate presentation of the reality that is the Philippines now and the direction it is about to take.

Duterte, fondly called DU30, is midway through his 6-year term as president. A recent survey by Pulse Asia Research Inc., a public opinion polling body in the Philippines, showed he has an 87% approval rating which is unprecedented in the history of the country.
