Her smile...

I just woke up from a nap. Unfortunately, I've gotten out of the habit of taking them lately. I feel much better taking a nap in the afternoon and sleeping a lot less at night, for some reason. It's almost like I wasn't really made to sleep through the night.

But that's not what I'm here to talk about.

During the last moment of my dream, this girl fell into me. I knew her. I had bought her a Christmas present in a dream from who knows how long before, and I think taken her to a dance in maybe the same dream or another. She had fallen asleep at a desk, and I was quickly trying to sign out of my accounts from the web browser in the school computer before leaving for the day. Somehow the entire desk got knocked over by other students and fell into me. I caught her, trying to keep her from getting hurt.

"Long time no see." I said.

"Yeah. Thanks for the present.", and she smiled.

Then I woke up. Her face is still clear as day in my memory. I know her face...but I don't know where from. Was it from school? Was she someone in one of my classes? Was it someone that used to live near me? Or was it simply from other dreams? Was she just a creation of my brain? Her face seems so familiar. And her smile... Such a beautiful smile.

I would think if I had known her, I would have had a crush on her. She was so sweet, with such a sweet smile. I would think I would remember her. Even if not her name, at least where I knew her from.

I keep thinking maybe I knew her from High School or Middle School...but she didn't really seem that young...

They say that people can't invent human faces in dreams...that every face you see in a dream is someone you've seen before. I imagine those people's brains aren't very capable, and they're just making shit up. I've often had dreams where people's faces were like fluid, morphing between different people...never met anyone like that in real life, so I'm gonna say that's bullshit.

Her face wasn't like that though. It was clear as day. It was like the face of a long lost love...one that I can't seem to remember...
