ULOG # 22 A Bad Walk
I have always liked walking and now with actifit I like it even more because I know how much I am walking. I have made it a habit every day of setting the app and then out I go walking to reach at least ten thousand steps every day.
These days I am starting the walk by taking my grandson on a stroll in his carriage that in itself is about 2,000 steps. After I finish this I go to my usual haunts, the waterfront, I play some pool I talk with the guys and then at about 11:00 I go on with my walk.
I think things are destined to be, today I decided to walk another route, I should have noticed something wasn't right because I had barely started when I walked to close to a parked car and it had some sort of wire I didn't see and it made a hole in my shirt. I paid it no mind and continued, but about three blocks ahead somebody who has a sort of restaurant is putting up an adboard, unfortunately this person is making it very low, exactly my height and it is steel angles, I didn't notice it as I am wearing a cap and before I knew it I had smacked my head on it, it really hurt and it opened a small gash on my head which you can see in the photo.
I was bleeding and fortunately there was a guy nearby and he let me have some water to wash it. I was kind of mad, if the owner had been there I think there would have been a fight, but I just continued my walk and decided that in both cases, the wire that tore my shirt and the gash on my head were my fault, I'm the idiot who doesn't look where he is going.
Well for now I have that bruise on my head and a small lump and it hurts so I will be remembering this event for a few days and perhaps I will learn my lesson to keep an eye on what I am doing.
By the way I hadn't noticed, but look at my arm, half of it is brown and the other half is very white, I guess I could work on an ad for human togetherness, look white and brown can get along.
Hey, @gduran.
I'm sorry to read about the small accidents there. I'm finding myself in similar situations all the time. Some scrapes, however, I have no idea how I got, because either they didn't hurt at the time I did it, or I was asleep, which is even more disconcerting. :)
At any rate, I'm believing this happens more as men become Grandpas. Less of an age thing than a distracted by young ones in the house again thing. :)
I hope everything heals quickly, and that whatever you were deep in thought about while you were walking was worth the annoyances. :)
Thanks.
