Final Round 16 Match Day ECL

The Champion League qualifying round of 16 is over, and now we know who the quarter finalists are. Today Barcelona and Liverpool were the last two to secure their pass, as I said yesterday I was on a 50/50 prediction win having said which team would make it through and only getting it right every one out of two, but today I was spot on.

Today I figured it would be the same one right one wrong, probably with Barcelona going through and Liverpool losing, as I have bad luck that way and I wanted Liverpool to win. Realistically Barcelona had a way better chance, they played at home with a draw in their first game and against a Lyon team which is frankly not their equal. Liverpool played Bayern in Munich and even though Bayern is not at their best they are still a formidable opponent, so I really had my doubts in this game.

Well Barcelona beat Lyon as expected and Liverpool were also able to finish off Bayern, Liverpool looked good and I think they are also in the run for the title, of course all eight teams are in the running but some more than others, my favourites are Barcelona and Manchester City, after these two I would say Juventus and Liverpool but not forgetting that the other four teams are here for a reason.

The draw for the quarterfinals will be on Friday I think we will probably see the four English teams playing against each other, I don't really think UEFA will risk there being an all English final this time around, even though it is a distinct possibility. Well I am a Liverpool fan so I am waiting to see what team we meet, whichever team it is I know it won't be easy.
