Fake News or Truth?
Steemit is one of the places where the MSM is perceived as a lying press which makes up fake news every day, and I see literally hundreds of articles stressing this fact and giving us the one and only important message: Never believe what the MSM tells you, they report only that which is good for the Deep State and the evil elites who are trying to take over the world. Fair enough, and not only that, it is also probably true.
So it just surprises me when these same guys who constantly tell us never to trust the Fake News Media actually write articles based on "facts" put forth by this same media. So what is it, is the MSM always lying, or is it only lying when they tell stories these guys don't like? If the news is more to their liking then it is true?
For a case in point I will talk about the "Tiananmen" massacre, I have seen a lot of articles on Steemit about this event, all of them pointing out about what crap a communist government is, about how the "Tank Man" is a symbol for freedom, about students who would rather die than give up etc. Now the thing is, we have to rely on what the MSM reported about these events, we don't know if they actually happened, there are no videos of the soldiers machine gunning the students, so we have to believe those whom we have repeatedly been told do nothing more than lie.
Did the massacre happen? How should I know, I wasn't there, it probably did. But if I am to believe most believers in freedom here, the MSM always lies so somehow I tend to think things didn't happen as we are supposed to believe. Now I found this article on this site which gives a completely different analysis of how things happened, is this article true? Again, I don't know, but what I know is if you are not going to believe in the MSM, don't believe in it but don't just say what you don't like is fake but news that do agree with what you think are true.
