Writing on STEEMIT about STEEM, why do it and why community trending will help.
It has been noted for a while now that steemit content ranks highly on google.
With this in mind one can target specific search terms and key words and be sure to end up on the first page of search results if the topic is a niche topic.
With this in mind I have been experimenting with writing STEEM related topics that cast STEEM in a positive light. The purpose of this is to increase the level of up to date and positive search results that are returned by google to people that are researching STEEM due to the recent increased trading activity on the markets.
For instance I wrote a post about the possible causes for STEEM pumping at the time that there was a significant upward movement in price on the markets.
Within a few hours the post was number 1 and number 2 on google...
The result was that this post received more than double the views of a post that is normally on trending for quite a while.
This is indicative that more than 50% of the eyeballs viewing this post were external users, potentially visiting the site for the first time.
The high google search rankings are persistent over time.
below is an article that I wrote 9 months ago.
It still ranks 4 when searching for the terms STEEM dump along with 3 other post direct from steemit.
However the number of views it has had is minuscule... keeping in mind that views were not logged by the site at the time that the article was first posted.
This one was posted 11 months ago and also still ranks number 4 when searching for "STEEM cryptocurrency".
This one however, has far more views and many of these are likely directed from google.
It's not nice to see a lot of posts on steemit about STEEM and steemit but it seems it's a necessary evil until there are separate trending pages for separate communities and interest groups and steemit trending can exclude this circular type of content.
It would appear important to write about STEEM and steemit to keep content that the outside world stumbles across relevant and up to date. It is still a highly utilized and potentially effective means of marketing the ecosystem.
A lot of us care about Steem, and talking about Steem is part of making Steem successful (such that we address the issues and are aware of successes/strengths as well).
Talking about Steem isn't really the problem, the problem is a lack of filters, which should be here in the form of communities by the end of May based on @ned's recent comments.
We hope so, will be great so that new users don't have to be put off by the seemingly circular posting.
Excellent point. The first thing a google user sees about steemit can't be 9 months old.
Yup, so much has changed since then.
When I had issues with registering, most forum posts were 9 months old.
STEEM GO TO THE MOON... :)
Very interesting your analysis. Don't you rank automatically better the older the article is ?
I've seen top 1 ranking within 2 hours if you do appropriate SEO in the way it's written
Wow, impressive...
So if there is a hot topic and you write about it well, you will see many more views than normal.
Best information
Good job community.
I like it.
Thank you for posting @gavvet.
A different perspective.....from the outside looking in....thank you for keeping an 'eye' on this development.
Your previous post regarding the weekend price rise.....was spot on. Lovely....Steemians watched it all weekend.
All the best to you and yours.
That one this week-end was quite obvious, the charts were not ambiguous, it was just a question of when.
Since the rest of the markets also went up and this one climbed with very little resistance, this rise may have been due to other than the usual players.... we could have another within the next two weeks but the charts will tell closer to the time.
I also find my content that i wrote on steemi on first google page... Also my video on youtube found witj same keyword... Nice information.
It is currently steemit to trending topics in google, but for search google and top ranked search in my opinion influenced by one SEO factor, indeed other factors as you mentioned above also play a very dominant role
I am sure lot of friends are going to enjoy this information. Thank you kindly.
This is very positive news. this post will boost up the Steemit community on offline platform too. thanks to share the Google popularity and high ranking of Steemit and Steem.
