This is truly amazing. We take it for granted that we live day in and day out without being hurt. Let alone the single fact that we as a conscious species seemingly exist alone in the universe is a wonder.
It's hard to have a grasp of just how large the space is in that image though. We consider an asteroid that comes with Earth-Moon distance as extremely close, but if you were to put the Earth and Moon on a dartboard with the Earth at the center and the Moon at an edge, both would be too small to see for the dart thrower. A huge number of large asteroids could come within that area of space with none of them ever hitting Earth.
