If Steem is to power ahead:

A couple of fundamentals are required in order to gain traction.

PPT

User adoption of an IT system is like the user adoption of new tech on the internet.
It's not enough to have great technology, There must be people and process engagement as well.

Lets take the birth of the internet. It was a text based playground for geeks. Only once graphics and a simple browser that took the complexity away from the user did it begin to gain traction. As it became easier for the average user to do the basic things it exploded exponentially.

Once the PEOPLE have a simple PROCESS to engage the TECHNOLOGY then the entire system functions.

Why is Bitcoin and all its blockchain derivatives battling with mass adoption? they are still to difficult for the average Joe to engage with.
Why is Facebook, twitter, etc. so popular?
They found a way to solve a simple problem simply.
Until blockchain communities find a way to hide the underlying technology and geekiness from the average user they are going to battle.

The community that solves this problem first will be amongst the winners. Steemit has a great Idea with the tech to deliver it. I hope the team can hide the complexity quickly and then it will spread like wildfire

I think once the FAQ and some base tutorials are easy to find on the site I don't see why any content creator would have an issue using the site.

I'm thinking about the complexity around public and private keys. It baffles most general users and is crucial from a security perspective
