December 12th - Sharing something you know.

in #christmas10 years ago

We all know something. If not, it's time to learn...

Knowledge is most useful shared and although not all of us are teachers, everybody can learn something from us even if it's just by example or watching how we do things.

This is the twelth way of serving in 25 ways over 25 days leading up to Christmas.

Its easy:

  1. watch the short clip
  2. follow the instructions
  3. make it happen
  4. then tweet or otherwise share your results using... #lighttheworld... encourage others to participate
  5. 25 days is enough consistency to form a new habit...

If every day this December we are slightly more mindful of others we may find ourselves with a new great habit to continue into the new year and beyond.

THREE SIMPLE WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

  • Share your favorite teaching or story of Jesus on social media.
  • Watch this video to see why Jesus was the Master Teacher.
  • Pass down something you learned from your parents or grandparents.

OTHER WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

  • Find out how you can teach English as a second language.
  • Teach a family member or friend something you’ve recently learned from the scriptures.
  • Invite friends into your home for a family night.
  • Sign up to share your professional advice at a school career day.
  • Volunteer to coach a youth sports team.
  • Watch an online tutorial to learn a new skill that can benefit others.

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.

Today , I taught my kids one of my favorite lessons that my mom taught me: always take care of the people who take care of you. This can be teachers, secretaries, waiters, crossing guards, clerks at stores, firefighters, police officers, letter carriers, or a myriad of other helpful people. If all you can do is to thank them, then do it sincerely. For example, I told my kids to thank the letter carrier, but to think about why they are thanking them. It snowed several inches this weekend so my kids could say "thank you for waking through the snow to bring important letters and packages to people".

I was taught along similar lines that... civility costs nothing...
