Climate change is a beast
Fire season here by us down South is supposed to be over in the beginning of spring.
August September should be our last and most ferocious fires since the countryside is at its driest.
Not so anymore...
The last couple of years the Spring rains are very late, if they come at all, and have been replaced by heat wave after heat wave.
We had some rain a couple of weeks back, 2 inches or 50 mm in less than half an hour. Most of it ran off and didn't really sink into the dry ground. Since then we have had a couple of heatwaves and everything is so dry it can still burn.
The mountain South of us has been burning for 3 days now.
It's burning on a front many kilometers in length, which extends broadly across the face, over the top and down the other side.

I highly suggest looking at Dan Wigington's material at geoengineeringwatch.org. He makes a good case about the state of the climate through human activity but also human intervention. Some of the things we are seeing now are unprecedented.

I hope the fire goes out quickly and all plants will grow as before even with a long period of time. and hopefully the heavy rain falls until the fire goes out.

How do the snakes & Co. handle these burns gavvet? Do they hide in their burrows and holes?
Looks like some rain now? Looking your way, appears as a dust storm with the thunderstorm, actually now blowing the papers here on my desk as we speak. Fear it might blow the rain clouds away. And then just spotted a Shafttailed Whydah, holding on to a thin twig of a branch, blowing around as if he is actually enjoying the ride, and then now as the heavens open, he flies for the big Willow. Rain, blessed rain......
