Scammer alert! WATCH OUT FOR IMPOSTERS. Some one is pretending to be @sweetsssj.... That is not so sweet
I was almost scammed today in steemit chat. This is just little a warning for those who use STEEMIT chat etc.
I was sent a private message asking for a 7 dollar donation to get an upvote of 100% worth 100$... This happened from post promotion in steemit chat. I was messaged by someone pretending to be one of steemits biggest users... They change the name a tiny bit to fool people.
When I checked out who I thought was messaging me it showed @sweetsssj and it seemed legit... But the sweetsssj in chat had a period at the end of the name "sweetsssj." instead of being "sweetsssj" the real person.
There should be no period.
This is someone playing as @sweetsssj... Why would someone worth over 100k on here be scamming for 7 dollars at a time... People are trying to use the other people identities on here!
What happens is that the faker will try and get you to send them money to off site addresses, when you do that you will not get your money. These scammers don't even need a steem account. They can make a steemit chat account and pretend to be anyone.
Just be aware! Do not send people steem etc unless you can actually trust them... I am not rich and have been working hard to earn steem. Sad to see people like this taking advantage of small steem users just trying to get a head for ounce.
If something seems to good to be true, it is.
Unbelievable !!! Scam artists everywhere ! She or he !?!? Messaged me as well in steemit chat with the same messaging ! Someday steemit will come up with a way to instantly get rid of these scammers its such BS ! At least you sent it to the real @sweetsssj ! It happen the same to me... I think they have done quiet a lot of money that night! :D I have also posted a video about it. :P But well I guess that's what we pay for believing in People! :(

Rule of thumb when in chat: If someone private messages you, look up that name on Steemit, check out their posts, etc. THEN talk to them.
The period after the name instantly tipped me off.
At least it wasn't too much. 😏

Hahaha I know right! I got so excited when I saw that person message me, since I haven't heard from Sweetsssj in a while now. When I looked at the name again, I realized, 'Oh no...' LOL.
