Making DTube better than YouTube.
I Came to DTube and the Snap Failed Me!
I'm a long time youtuber and have nearly 200,000 subscribers on my channel. But their censorship is unacceptable to me. I want us to have a voice not controlled by politicians and corporate power.
My latest round of YT censorship is actually how I discovered DTube. There's issues, playback is often slow and the fact that when shared on Facebook there no title or poster frame makes it virtually unshareable there. Still I've started uploading videos and believe it has potential.
But biggest PROBLEM should not be a problem. When you upload to DTube everything is ready but the snap. You can't submit the video until you upload a snap. So you try that and it does not work... And your whole upload is becomes useless. Sometimes it works, sometimes it fails and when we can't post an upload, like happened to me tonight, we cant spread new content.
I travel a lot and that means data usage. Uploading a video literally costs me money. DTube flushes that money away when it uploads a video and won't post because of a silly thumbnail. This is not good economics. If the system has a problem, then post the video with a thumb grabbed from the upload and let us change it later.
I've searched around and it seems like this issue has been popping up for a long time. Right now I can't even upload a video and have wasted a GB of data because of a thumbnail. Bugs happen, but this points to flawed design in the upload process and flawed designs won't go mainstream, which is what we want Steem to do.
So first, who else is experiencing this and have you found any workaround that are effective, Second, what has to be done to make it better. Who do we support, requisition or give feedback. Do we always shave to let the corporate giants control our voice or can we make DTube better than YouTube?

Unfortunately, it lacks a lot of development to improve the platform.
I haven't personally actually used DTube, but have plans to use it as soon as I learn the Steemit platform a little better. Wasn't aware of this issue you are having. I hope it is fixed, or figured out soon. I am looking forward to seeing more of your excellent videos of TRUTH!!!

The video worked perfect, but due to my lack of knowledge of the platforms functionality, the video post wasn't exactly what i was hoping for.

The error is about a possible unsupported file type, so there's definitely issues, but you would think if it was the wrong format it would not of even let me try to upload it in the first place? That is beta version for you, so there are many many things that need to be fixed, but I can see the potential It holds.
It is a known issue and it is being fixed.
It seems to have been a known issue for the better part of a year. So that's not being fixed, that's an ongoing issue. if you can't upload content it's a no go.
