The Rolling Stones Song You NEVER HEARD Before!

In the summer of 1967, Psychedelic Music was everywhere! The Beatles had put out Revolver and Sgt. Pepper by this point. The Beach Boys did Pet Sounds. The Jefferson Airplane did Surrealistic Pillow. The Rolling Stones were one of the world's biggest bands at the time, and they also did a Psychedelic Album called Their Satanic Magesties Request.

My favorite song on this album is called, Citadel. It's a 4 chord progression in the verses and a simple repeated Chorus. The instruments featured, along with drums and guitar, are a harpsichord and bell. There are a few psychedelic effects as well. Mick Jagger is on vocals of course, and sounds strong as ever, but a bit more snotty, like a punk singer might sound 10 years later.

This new phase of music evolution in the 60s caused many of the Garage Bands of the day to switch from Garage Pop to Psychedelic music. Two bands come to mind - The Majic Ship and The Morning Dew. Check them out, and all the other great music in my blog here on Steemit!
