Garage Rock From West Virginia! The Point Is, by Evil Enc. Group!

in #garagerock6 years ago

One of the first Garage Rock songs I ever heard was "The Point Is" by Evil Enc. It's raw and gritty but it has a nice organ part to smooth the rough edges just a little bit.

I don't know where Oak Hill West Virginia is, but these guys were there in 1967. They put together a basic raw rock song that's essentially a march. I can imagine a high school marching band covering this! The drums bang out the beat while the guitar and organ play the chords and the bass walks through these chords. The singer is not happy! Why?

Girl, you sold out my time, when I turned my back on you!
You took my life and turned it upside down. The point is, my mind's turned around!
You've been trouble from the start, always putting me down.
You've been trouble from the start, and I want out now! Hey!

Tasty guitar break.

Yeah! You've been trouble from the start, always putting me down.
You've been trouble from the start, and I want out now! Hey!
Hey hey hey! Yeah!

I've enjoyed your point of view, on things that I thought were you!
And now I find my connection's gone. The point is, you're doing me wrong!

Get ready to march it out with the boys from West Virginia! Yeah! Hey!
