Why don't we dig deeperinto the earth ??

It’s because we can’t. There is always reason, even if that reason is only the pursuit of knowledge. We would drill as deep as we could, just to dig as deep as we could.

The Soviets drilled the deepest hole ever drilled - the Kola Superdeep Borehole. It took them 24 years. They made it 12 kilometers deep. It turned out to be much hotter past 10k than they expected. They stopped drilling in 1994. Drilling technology may have improved since then, but probably not enough to make it much deeper than Kola.
