The benefit of a second pair of eyes - Sometimes, games come out in a rough state due to lack of time, lack of resources, lack of interest, or because the developers didn't have the benefit of a second pair of eyes. They didn't have the input needed to understand that the thing they've been working on so hard was actually not very good.

That's one of the problems with game industry these days.
Though sometimes I feel that if the developer genuinely think it's good (and some of their players)... Caring too much about the fans might ruin it. which is another problem with the gamindustry.
