Pokemon Go: A Sleeping Snorlax!

Despite the continued events that Niantic continues to deploy to the trainers, they never seem to stop surprises more often these days! The latest example is the deployment of the Snoozing with Snorlax event! For a limited time, Snorlax will be commonly seen in the wild sleeping! The event started on May 28th and will continue until June 3rd.

During this time, you will see Snorlax sleeping in the wild and will have the opportunity to catch it as it sleeps! The graphics of both in the wild and during the encounter show the Pokemon sleeping and is quite amusing. However, once you catch it, it will be a normal Snorlax except for the added bonus. Catching a Snorlax that was sleeping during your encounter will bring an all new and exclusive quick move called Yawn.

Many are taking advantage of the event to get some great pictures, including myself. This was a surprise event but shows how Niantic is able to release content that engages players more than usual. While it is not an extraordinary event, it gives players some different to interact with for a short time. Go catch ‘em!
