E3 2019 is in full swing and many game developers and others have not waiting for it to even start to announce new games and content! In the days leading to E3 2019, announcements have been teased towards the launch of future games for known franchises which had got me thinking. In addition, the console war seems to be getting ready for another leg as new features are making the differences between the options less and less which could lead to changes that impact the way we play in the future.

I really have not been playing much on console lately as the last couple of multiplayer games have really not captured my attention. Call of Duty has always been a cornerstone for me but the last couple of years have been a challenge to remain engage. Despite a great game in Black Ops 4 and its impressive try at Battle Royale with Breakout, many have continued to move away from Call of Duty and back into the original Battle Royals like Fortnite which continues to also evolve. However, there is really no way for me not to buy the next game which has already been announced to be Modern Warfare; my friends mostly play that game and I really enjoy it with them. It will be released October 25th and is said to be a high quality re-imagination of the Modern Warfare series which has many fans due to the character development which will return as the stories do not mix with the previous ones.

Destiny 2 (not 3) has also already been out front with its latest content called Shadowkeep and will be released September 17th. The first release after officially being independent from Activision so expectations will be high despite the commentary already being more around the bringing back of the moon as a destination but that it will double the size of the first one which will be interesting to see. They will also bring Eris Morn back as a character so many hope that the story will start to come together to ultimately prepare for a Destiny 3.

This also leads to news surrounding the new generation of consoles which seem to be closer but will probably not be announced in E3. Instead, probably variations will start to come out like the digital only version of the Xbox. However, it seems that this is mattering less these days as it seems that there will start to be more cross platform gaming soon. Call of Duty has been said to be cross platform playable where players on both consoles and computers can play. While this is not the case for Destiny 2, there are integrating cross platform saves to take your character with you as you cross platforms! This is just the start so more news to come!

Thanks!
