The salubrious symphony

in #thougnts6 years ago

She popped out of the water right in front of me and time slowed...Rivulets of water rolled off her lithe body, all six feet of it. They seemed like low-motion waterfalls as the sea water made its way downward around her curves, hugging them, caressing them almost, as they succumbed to gravity. I sat up slightly for a better view and contemplated whipping out my...phone...only deciding against it as I was reluctant to take my eyes off her for the three seconds it would take to dig it out of my back pack.

She stood there, head tilted half to the left, squeezing salty water from her long silver-blonde hair that cascaded down her shoulder. Her arms were held up to her chest while she shed the droplets from her hair causing some pleasing accentuation of her breasts which seemed intent upon popping right out of her bikini top...Again the urge to reach for my...phone...struck me, and again I resisted. Probably not a good look here on a public beach.

She started walking, still in slow motion of course, directly towards me; A milky-smooth-skinned arm raised, a long-fingered hand shaded her eyes from the sun as she walked and beneath the shadow, partially covering her face, I could see a smile.

I watched as she got closer, her hips swaying as she walked, a nice amount of bounce to her...step...as she did so and the various other parts of her body moved together in a salubrious symphony of movement. I was transfixed and before I knew it...

...There she was arranging herself on the beach towel beside me, again, in slow motion...And then the world seemed to revert to back to normal speed...

"Well? She said in a luxurious voice as I sat up and twisted to face her.

I leaned over, gave her a quick kiss and said..."I'm hungry are you?"

This happened today at the beach which is where Faith and I were, again. She popped out of the water after taking a swim to cool off and yes, I really said, I'm hungry are you? Come on! It was lunch time after all.

OK, I'll be honest, maybe the slow motion part didn't happen quite as I described as I don't have the ability to slow time but the rest did thankfully. It was a nice morning spent on the beach with my best friend, partner in crime and wife, Faith.

Not long after the salubrious symphony we headed up to the Esplanade to grab a bit to eat and then headed home in the early afternoon before it got too hot.

Today is the last time we can do this as our freestylin' week ends tomorrow when Faith resumes work. I return Monday myself and nope, I'm not really looking forward to it.

We have had a good little break but it's onward and into the year from a work and life perspective and salubrious symphonies will have to occur on weekends or sneaky mid-week beach visits when permissable.

We have a trip to Tasmania locked in for my 50th this year plus will be heading back to Europe in the middle of the year to visit family again. I also have a few trips away for shooting events so we have a bit to look forward to; Having said that though, we always tend to look forward to our life whether it's travelling overseas, watching Netflix, on a hiking or kayak adventure...Or relaxing on the beach. Whatever we do being 100% present in it is the goal.

So, we don't mind the return to work scenario...Although there may be some grumbling...Life goes on and whilst I'd rather watch my wife pop out of the water in a bikini all day there's a little more to life than that.

I hope y'all doing great and are looking forward to some sort of salubrious symphony of your own, whatever form that may come in.

I love how you talk about your wife, its lovely your both so much in love... 😊

Thank you. We're on the same page mostly and I think that helps. We disagree about many things and have frustrations also, that's normal, however we have respect for each other, tolerance too. We look after ourselves and how we look and we have a knack of keeping things interesting...So many things combine with this, leaving us in the position we are in. Together and happy.

I've still got two weeks left of holiday. But I do feel your pain... Honest ;0)

Great...Now I'm depressed.

Actually I could have had another week however opted not to as Faith didn't have the time. I saved the week for a trip we're taking in March. You travelled away yourself?

Heading out to three airport tomorrow morning, Lanzarote bound!

I'm not jealous. OK, so I am...Can't blame me though right? Canary Islands? Seems like a nice spot to be...I assume a resort of some kind which sounds pretty nice right about now.

Aye. Canary Islands. Not the best time of year for the weather but for a comparison to the Scottish weather it will be perfect!

I have a mate here who has Scottish background...He's always over there, a couple times a year as he owns a couple houses he AirB&B's...He's always on about the weather, hoe bad it can be, but he loves it there. I think he will move there someday. (Edinburgh)

Canary islands will be nice...Anywhere one is on vacation is.

Aye, we do love this country despite the shit weather!

I can't wait. Only hours to go!!!

You'll have a great trip I'm sure...Lazing around mainly or is there stuff to do there?

It is possible to alter perception of time so maybe you did see all that in slomo. Or maybe you just replay it in slomo, either way ;D

I think either way it works...Still, if I could slow time down I'd be doing it...I'm back to the salt mines on Monday.

Howdy sir galenkp! All good things must end they say. lol.. the best post title I've seen for awhile!

Hey Jonboy, thanks for saying it. I liked writing that one, and after all, enjoying what I write here is important to me. I have to say, I was pretty chuffed with the title myself. (Chuffed = Happy.)

oh, lol.. glad you included the definition of "chuffed!" thanks!

Haha, I think its an english term to be honest, but we use it here sometimes. I don't use it too much I guess, just roll it out for the special occasions.

It's a great term, I'll try to remember to use it too!
