The camp out
Usually at this time of the week, Friday night, I've come home from work and shut out the world and Faith and I have dinner and watch some shows on TV, or read. Fish and chip Fridays are an institution in our household although come winter time, when it's pouring with rain like tonight, I can't be bothered going out to get it so dial-a-pizza comes to the rescue. Dial-a-pizza Friday initiated.
So, tonight we're in our comfortable little house chilling out on a typical Friday night; Pizza consumed and feeling content.
We've actually been planning a back yard adventure for tomorrow night to be honest; You know, lighting up the fire pit and sitting around watching it burn down, with tunes in the background and a whisky in my hand...Gotta love that!
It might not make a lot of sense to you, but for a couple outdoorsy people like us it makes perfect sense. Leave the comfort of the house behind and get into the great outdoors! Even if it's in our own back yard which you can see in the picture.
I'm going to make some burgers on the flames tomorrow. I have a cooking grate that covers half the fire and once the flames die down it's perfect for grilling burgers. The only problem is I have to sully my grill with Faith's vegetarian burgers, but that's ok, I'm used to it. Throw some lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mayo and ketchup onto some toasted buns and it's GTG! (Good to go.)
We'll just sit around and chat for a while, cuddle a bit I guess and probably just sit in silence but for the crackle, hiss and pop of the fire.
My wife and I are simple people, not stupid, simple; We appreciate simple things and are comfortable doing stuff like this as we find it so relaxing. Throw some music on and watch the flames until they die down...It doesn't get much better than that really. Who said lockdown is boring.
I hope you guys all have a great weekend and find something to get passionate about...Like Faith and I and our back yard quasi-camp out.
We each only get one life, it makes sense to use it.
