Brain versus stomach arguments...
Have you ever done something and then only a short time later thought what the actual f^^k did I do that for? Come on, I know you have! I've done it, more than once too! It happened to me today, only just now actually, and I thought I'd write about it and immortalize my stupidity in the hope that future generations may avoid the mistakes of those that went before them, the trailblazers, and that subsequent generations can live better lives untroubled by the tribulations of those that paved the way...
I was rolling along in my truck quite untroubled and carefree, as much as one can be in this society, when all of a sudden I got hungry. I could have made it home, or to any other place in the whole damned city, to sate my hunger but alas, I didn't. I ended up pulling into a Hungry Jack's outlet. (Called Burger King overseas I think.) My brain was already on high alert as it's not a place I frequent very often but my stomach said, "fuck it" and so in we went; We being my brain, my stomach and the rest of me combined.
Scanning the menu board moments later I decided on a basic Whopper meal and changed the fries to onion rings on my order. Ok, so deed done I stood to the side awaiting my meal to arrive, encased in its cardboard box, upon a plastic tray. Trust me, it's no Chianti, Hutt Street here...No class at all. But...My stomach was still feeling confident despite my brain's continued warning. So, I stood there observing the pristine photographic examples of the burgers offered on the menu board with my stomach saying, "yeah baby!" And my brain going, "you dumb fuck, this food is hideous!"
Right about then, as I tried to mediate a truce between my stomach and brain, I heard order 196 called and watched as a pimply adolescent slid a plastic tray towards me on the counter. She smiled and said, "enjoy your meal". My brain simply scoffed and my stomach said, "why, thank you kind serving teenager."
Ok, so the image is what I was confronted with on opening the box...That's right, absolutely NOTHING like the burger in the picture on the menu board. My brain laughed outright as I surveyed the sloppy, flat, greasy pile of fucking shit in the box and yet, ever the optimist, my stomach was still feeling good.
We ate the burger, brain, stomach and the rest of me, and to be honest it tasted ok. Not great, but about what you'd expect for $12.55 and food prepared by an adolescent who couldn't give two shits about his/her job and the fact they are preparing food a human is actually going to consume.
Now, 20 minutes later though...
My brain keeps telling my stomach, "I told you so", and my stomach replies over and over, "why do you have to be such a smart ass all the time brain?".
Yeah, I'm not feeling so good and regret my decision to stop in at Hungry Jack's. What's even dumber than coming here is that I actually think the same thing everytime I come here and yet it's like I forget or something and end up here all over again. What's up with that?
So, once again I'm here saying why the fuck did I eat that and vowing not to do so again. I should have gone home and eaten, or to my friend's cafe instead but...I didn't. Have I learned my lesson now? Will future generations heed my warning and stay away from Hungry Jack's, McDonalds, KFC and all the other fast food joints that serve shit and charge through the roof for it? Nah, I think not. You see, that's the nature of humans...We know of the mistakes made in the past and we keep making the same ones oblivious to the lessons we could have (should have) learned. I don't just mean fast food either...We do it with everything. Kind of strange that we do that don't you think? I mean even animals learn from their mistakes and will take steps to avoid them. But mankind? Nah, we just keep repeating the same mistakes and get surprised when the same result occurs.
Isn't that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing yet expecting different results?...

I've never had a problem with the food at fast food restaurants, but there are some pubs and hotels with terrible chefs where the food quality can range from heavenly to "I'd like a refund".
I wonder if you have an allergy to something at fast food restaurants perhaps?
Yes, pimply food preparation operators and greasy shitty food probably.

Cool, thanks for stopping by. :)
The same thing happens to me with the Sweets! I cannot say no to them yet as when I do have some, I don’t moderate either so my intake is always at extremes. The results is some terrible heartburn for me!

Moderate? What is this moderate you speak of? :)
Lol, sound you like you and I are one and the same!
I could smash whoppers full time; maybe I've just built up an immunity.
Prefer an Aussie burger though. The egg and beetroot really kick it up a notch.
Good call on the onion rings; I throw them on the burger.
Haha, yeah I go there way too often...Once a month I guess. Never Macca's though. That shit it evil.

Humans do seem to have this amusingly pathetic habit of being absolutely dead certain beyond all logic and reason that somehow this time it will be different XD
I actually don't mind KFC. Once in a while. When I'm feeling either particular or there's nothing better on offer within range.
Oh yeah...Zinger burgers...Love them. Still, I limit contact with them as it always seems like they get the upper hand on me. ☺️

Conspiracy theory or no I'm pretty sure they're addictive so that's not that surprising XD
I love me a Hungry Jacks meal now and then :) Yes I have done things and then thought you idiot what did you do that for haha :)

Here and there it's ok I think. A sometimes food. My burger wasn't so bad today...I over-dramatised it for effect. :)
If you learn to expect that you'll mess up sometimes, and eat junk food when your hungry, and it's available, you'll no longer expect a different result.
You'll be sane! @galenkp
P.S. I do the same thing sometimes too but I feel like KFC is a little bit better than the burger joints. I always feel tired and a little groggy after eating at places like Burger King or Mcdonalds.

I agree with you, I also find KFC is a little better for me than the others. I also get that groggy/flat feeling after Hungry Jacks/Burger King/McDonalds too. It's a sometimes food for me really. I don't eat from any of these places often.
