DOWNWARD SPIRAL: HORUS STATION

in #gaming8 years ago

Downward Spiral: Horus Station probably does not need to be a computer game. The game is some kind of Friday afternoon and you could play it both in the classic and the co-reign mode. But now it also came to PS4, where it also brings support for classic play, PlayStation VR and even co-operation. So what is it about? Well, in short, it's a pretty gloomy and quiet experience that you do not even know. Without any indication of the story, you will find yourself on a lost space station where you would only look mad for crew members. What has actually happened, nobody knows yet, and it's up to you to find a fugitive conspiracy in the distance.

A deep story or memorable characters go sideways. From the beginning, you can get used to the almost complete silence with the atmosphere that Matt Damon enjoyed in the Martian movie right after leaving him on Mars. You are here alone, nobody can help you, and the only sensible option is to go ahead and look for individual jigsaw pieces to clarify gaming events. The creator of this dead atmosphere even depends on the fact that the tasks that are waiting for you are presented only visually, on the monitors of the ship and in the surrounding environment. Computer gamers were even fortunate enough to try out the first game called Downward Spiral: Prologue that came out a year ago. The good news is that you do not need to know this prologue to understand gaming even though it helps a bit.

So you find yourself at Horus station. For novices who did not play similar space issues, initially, the movement may be a bit complicated due to low gravity. Therefore, forget the classic trip. You must reflect from the surrounding objects and the Romanes that will move you to the side where you want to go. Luckily for everyone, rather than breaking the nerve, you get a clever thing to attract objects and make the overall movement much easier. I mentioned to her the grapling hook from the legendary Worms. Just shoot in front of you, hold the button and you pull forward.

Personally, I do not even want to think about how a game without this device would look like. It will actually be more of the aid, but I would not like to surprise you. Horus will offer relatively large spaces in which you can move, although the advance is relatively linear and the path is only one. There will be parts where you will have to go back, look for different items and open previously locked doors and the like. So the survey is one of the important parts of the title, and if you do not want it, you will not move.

The situation will be frustrated by robots you may not want to upset, but they are just as short. They are not everywhere, but when you come across them and notice you, you have a problem. Fortunately, the game offers a nice arsenal of weapons to help you solve the situation in a bold way. You will find various sci-fi guns and rifles with the weapon in the right hand and your left hook. Each hand also has its inventory and you can change things in it, which is a really simple, but handy system. As you go forward, you get better things and you get more use of the game even though it's still quite slow.

The visual side of the title does not belong to the best and has its own weak spots, which can sometimes be kept in sight. The game takes place at a single space station that can surprise some places, but others work dully and their exploration can be bored. Surrounding features and overall design resemble older sci-fi films featuring mechanical buttons, levers, larger monitors, and similar issues. The spaces evoke Space Odyssey from Stanley Kubrick and mainstream to the first Scott Alien. Fans of these nostalgic pieces will come to their Downward Spiral Horus Station.

The visual, of course, exalts the already mentioned atmosphere, which is really silent and dense with its silent dead universe. The feelings in the universe are really magnificent, with exciting moments supplemented by well-played music. Everything underlines the fact that you need to be well-orientated around and look at sometimes inconspicuous monitors or other visual issues that form your steps forward. Things are sometimes dragged here, however, the atmosphere is very peaceful for somebody and many players who are used to a faster pace will rather discourage the game. During a roughly 5-hour pilgrims that, unfortunately, many elements repeat, you will not see a predel scene or dialogue here. This is not a standard today, but if the atmosphere takes you, it will only support it.

Downward Spiral: Horus Station is a game that, thanks to its atmosphere, will make an impression on classic science fiction fans or those who want to experience what it is like to be an astronaut. With the eyes of the eye, it could be said that he will also delight the players who liked Portal, even though it is a little different style. If you do not slow down your pace, stay in a zero-gravity universe, especially in the CoR, you will enjoy. Of course, after a frustrating introduction, when you do not have the equipment yet. However, the slow play of the game will be discouraged by other players and shorter gameplay time will not help.
