Joining the SteemMonsters Phenomenon

in #steemmonsters8 years ago

Maybe it is funny, but for someone who enjoys video games (but rarely plays them lately), and who understood that SteemMonsters will be a phenomenon early on, I... haven't joined it until today.

It was about time to rectify that. So yep, I bought my starter pack and chose to create a new Steem account especially for SteemMonsters, just in case I'll pick up an addiction and I wouldn't want to flood my main account feeds all the time.

My timing to join wasn't the most perfect one, as it appears the SteemMonsters node got a bit behind with the blocks as aggroed and Matt traveled back from SteemFest.

After paying for the starter pack (plus the new Steem account for free), the transaction never seemed to be confirmed on SteemMonsters, like it shows in this image:

But luckily I had the idea to open SteemMonsters in a different tab and login with my new account, and I saw it already had the starter pack, so everything was alright and I closed this window.

Then, of course, I started to read, because I had no idea how to build my team or how to play.

I am familiar with various stats and abilities, as they are common in different games that I played throughout the years.

So I got quickly through them and I wanted to play a practice game. But surprise! SteemMonsters node was still out of sync, and for a while I was out of luck with that, as many others who tried to play.

Fortunately, both aggroed and Matt got to work after the flight back, and the node was synced again (or the issue resolved, whatever it was).

I got the chance to play my first game. Directly rated, not for practice. I lost without much opposition.

But the next two fights, after I changed my team, I won! Awesome! I might have gotten a little cocky, if I wouldn't have lost 3 in a row after that.

It is true what people say, that SteemMonsters is addictive! I'm considering delegating some SP to the new account so I can have enough RC to play as much as I want.

By the way, the new Steem account has 0% voting power and it doesn't grow. Is it how it is supposed to work? I believe once I delegate some SP to the account this issue will be resolved, but without the delegation, will the voting power increase?

And I'm sure SteemMonsters will make a BIG splash outside Steem itself.

I want to be there for the ride, which will be spectacular! And have some fun while at it.
