Amazing Flower in our backyard!!!
Gumamela flower. You can find this flower in every backyard in my hometown. It is known for best remedy for boils. My father used to as an immediate remedy. He was a famous quack doctor (Albularyo) in the village (barangay), municipality of Borongan, province of Eastern Samar, Philippines.
In Philippines, the gumamela (local name for hibiscus) is used by children as part of bubble-making pastime. The flowers & leaves are crushed till the sticky juices come out. Hollow papaya stalks are then dipped into this & used as straws for blowing bubbles. Together w/ soap, hibiscus juices produce more bubbles.
