Superheroes have been present in video games for decades, starting in 1978 on the Atari 2600, where the first superhero game called Superman was released. This title would start a series of games where the main protagonists are the heroes of comics.

Within the extensive catalog of superhero video games there are titles that are of excellent quality, which captivated many players turning them into excellent games, however, there is the other side of the coin, video games based on those heroes that are not worth playing because of how bad and horrible they were.

There is a very considerable list of this type of games on different platforms, you just have to take a simple trip to the past to visualize them and understand why they were considered very low quality video games.

Next, I'll show you some superhero based games which were unfortunate for many reasons, causing great disappointment in the player when playing them.

Silver Surfer

We will start with a classic NES game that is currently considered one of the most difficult video games, Silver Surfer. Released in 1990 and programmed by Software Creations as a videogame of the shooter genre, where we handle the superhero described in the name of the game, destroying everything in our path.

The thing about this game is how stupidly weak Silver Surfer is. Anything that touches the character automatically dies, there are even parts where touching a little surface represents our death. The enemies are super powerful, having to shoot at them countless times, in short, a video game designed to suffer and cry.

Hulk The Pantheon Saga

The Hulk is one of the characters who, for some reason, has not had many video games. The few that have been developed are not very famous, however, there is one that is considered a headache because of how horrible it was at the time, his name is Hulk The Pantheon Saga, released in 1997 for PlayStation and Sega Saturn.

At first glance they may seem very poor in terms of graphics and animations, however, this is less of a problem, their camera and gameplay make this video game terrible. Sometimes you won't know if you're at the right distance to attack an enemy or avoid a trap, making the Hulk the incredibly clumsy one.

Superman 64

Many expected this video game to be on this list, it is one of the most horrible and nefarious superhero based titles that could exist in the history of video games, leaving a bitter to strange experience for those players who played this game on a Nintendo 64.

A repetitive game where the objective was simply to pass through some hoops, a horrible gameplay and to put the cherry on the cake, the end of the video game, which you do not know whether to laugh or cry. All these elements make it one of the worst titles based on a superhero. If you'd like to play it there are many websites where you can emulate the N64 online.
