The unforgettable "Game Over" screens of video games

in Steem Gaming4 years ago

All gamers at some point had to lose in some video game, that feeling that everything you managed to do faded away and having to do it all over again is a horrible thing, but there's nothing worse than seeing a "Game Over" screen die multiple times that causes you anger or discomfort.

This is something that has been seen even in the early days of video games, in the past even though they were simple we couldn't escape those words when our lives were over, video games like Space Invaders or Pacman are a great example.

Over time, video game developers for some reason designed "Game Over" screens that would endure in the minds of players, becoming unforgettable moments because of how strange they are or just by watching them too many times.

Next, I'll show you some unforgettable "Game Over" screens in video games.

Goemon's Great Adventure

This video game released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 was a surprise for many, since it is one of the best 2.5D platform games created for that console, however, there is one thing that many did not understand.

Why does a bodybuilder appear on the Game Over screen, and why does he dance with a Hula Hoop when we give him a chance to continue? At the beginning it's a funny thing to see how it's out of the context of the game, but seeing it for losing many times in this game makes it a little strange.

Batman: Arkham Series

The first video game of this saga was developed by Rocksteady Studios called Batman: Arkham Asylum and became a success, reviving one of the best adventures of the legendary superhero, with a very addictive mode and a story that many comic book fans would like to see.

But one of the things that would undoubtedly stay in your mind when playing this video game is how the enemies humiliate you every time you lose in the game, lying on the floor and watching the Jocker mock you is something you'll probably never forget, one of the most original "Game Over" scenes in video games.

Dark Souls

It could not miss the video game that many consider difficult, since 2011 Dark Souls became one of the main video games to recover the essence of the games of yesteryear regarding the difficulty, this would bring as a consequence that many times you would see a symbolic screen that would be immortalized in the history of video games.

"You Died" are the words that you will see so many times in that game that you will never forget them, it is one of the screens that has many memes in the internet, motivated to that by any minimum error that you made in the game it was inevitable not to see those words in your monitor or television.

Metal Gear Solid

One of the most loved games by the community in the past, Metar Gear Solid for the first PlayStation was a video game full of spying and action that marked many in that 32-bit generation, if you see this game in this list is because it has an unforgettable Game Over screen.

In this case there is nothing out of the ordinary, we will always see the same words on the screen, but the cries of agony of our colleagues trying to communicate with us that we died trying to do our mission, makes one of the screens the iconic ones of the 90s era.

There will always be these screens that tell us the end of our game, some of them are a little boring, but there will always be developers who take this to another level, being recorded in the minds of many gamers.
