The best Beat 'em up of the Nintendo NES - Famicom

We return again with a trip to the past, remembering and bringing to the present the best video games of yesteryear from the Beat 'em Up genre, which was one of the most addictive on different platforms. This time we will focus on a retro console that many old schoolers love, the Nintendo Entertainment System or also known as Famicom.

Despite the hardware limitations at the time, the programmers did an excellent job developing games for the NES. These have an impressive level of detail, considering that it is an 8-bit console, and many of its tunes remain etched in our minds, making them addictive.

Within its huge catalogue we can find excellent games of the Beat 'em up genre that describe everything mentioned above in a perfect way, turning them into video games that can be played in any era, thanks to how fun they are.

But we must not forget an important factor in the games of yesteryear, their difficulty. This made it challenging to see the end of the game, so if you decide to try one out, keep in mind that there are no checkpoints or data storage, these are arcade-type games where you survive until your life is over.

Next, I'll introduce you to the best Beat 'em Up you can play on the NES, taking into account their graphics, sound, music and most importantly, their playability.

Battletoads

One of the video games that for years has been on the list of the most difficult games. Despite its reputation, it's not impossible to finish it. It's a very fun video game, where we handle some super muscular and strong toads, which will have to go through some strange levels that represent a great challenge for the player.

Many point out that this video game was Rareware's response to the Ninja Turtles that were in vogue at the time. The gameplay is excellent as well as the graphics and the tunes, the latter of which will stay in our minds for as many times as we repeat their levels.

T.M.N.T III - The Manhattan Project

If we talk about super doped toads some ninja turtles must enter the scene, these we can handle in the incredible video game T.M.N.T III - The Manhattan Project, third delivery that was released in the year 1991, considered by many the best game of these classic characters.

One of the most addictive things in this game was the gameplay and being able to handle these charismatic characters, who were once very loved by the community, in an almost perfect way. The bosses are exactly the same ones that appear in the animated series, each one is very well designed, as well as the enemies that appear in all the levels, in short, an excellent game that guarantees its hours of fun in a solitary way or with friends.

Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team

What happens if two of the best Beat 'em up in a video game come together? The answer is simple, it forms one of the best games ever created in this genre, that was the result of Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team, released in 1993 for different platforms, including the Game Boy, SNES, Mega Drive and of course the NES.

The design of its levels is fantastic, the gameplay was improved in an incredible way, the effects, weapons, enemies, bosses, among many other things make it an excellent option to know the concept Beat 'em up.

Mighty Final Fight

Many people think that the Final Fight saga was only released for Arcade machines and the Super Nintendo, however, there is a title that very few people know about, it is Mighty Final Fight, a video game released exclusively for the NES in 1993, year in which the console was already reaching its end.

We can choose any of the 3 legendary characters, Cody, Guy and Haggar. Their movements are perfectly adapted to the controls of the NES, in addition, it has a slight RPG essence because we will have to go up of experience in the battle to be able to unlock better movements, this makes its gameplay unique with each character.

Double Dragon II: The Revenge

In the Double Dragon saga we can find excellent games, but the one that is considered by many one of the best video games is Double Dragon II: The Revenge. Its playability is one of the huge virtues, the way you can perform different combos and unique moves make the player feel like a god.

The only thing that makes this video game complicated is its jump mechanics, sometimes we must be too precise and more in the more advanced levels, otherwise we will easily lose all lives, having to go back to the beginning, however, is one of the challenges we will have to overcome when playing this excellent title.

These were some of the best Beat 'em Up you'll ever play on the Nintendo Entertainment System, so if you know of any others that are worthy of being on this list, please indicate them in the comments section.
