Gunbird - Arcade Zone #16 - Retro Review
"Legend has it that there was a mirror that could fulfill the desire of any Steemian, be a whale or have infinite SBD resonated between their thoughts, but the mirror was broken into four pieces, which were lost around the world. Malignant forces wanted to seize him to finish completely with Steemit, 5 Steemian to know that they were prepared to undertake the great search, to be able to find the pieces of the mirror and to fulfill their great desires, the team was called Gunbird ".
The shooters, fabulous genre that many of my followers will know is one of my favorites, the reflections and gameplay should be accurate if you do not want to die trying, each of them has its characteristic difficulty that in some cases can be extreme, I had the opportunity to play in the mid 90's through the Sega Saturn was the great Gunbird, offered graphic features that impressed more than one gamer, also its difficulty is really complex due to the multiple enemies and attacks we received, despite not Being well known is a great video game which I consider it worthy to dedicate this small space.
One of the things that impressed me most about Gunbird is its graphic quality, the sprites, pixel art, animations, among many other things it looks in an impressive way, apart from the fact that at all times it offers a very good fluidity, this is a characteristic that It stands out a lot because most of the time we will find many enemies on screen, the design of the characters are very good, they have this Japanese drawing art which is perfect for them.
Each one of its levels are visually very striking, its backgrounds are very varied, full of animations from all sides, as we go forward we will realize that the game is being developed in different places, this same characteristic applies to all the enemies that we we find, there are the terrestrial ones that will attack us from the ground and the air ones (they are the most annoying) that will attack us from the air, we will find a great variety of them in each level making the game not repetitive.
The bosses are quite interesting, the design of each one is just perfect, they all have different transformations, that is to say if we believe that when they explode we have finished with them, because no, some have up to 4 transformations, as we decrease their life they will change their patterns making it more complicated to annihilate him.
Gunbird is characterized by being a difficult game, we must have reflections well tuned to survive at all levels, sometimes we will see so many shots on the screen that it will be inevitable that they will not touch us, although the game is generous giving them from the beginning 3 lives, if we lose them automatically we will get the announcement of "continue?" where we must introduce a new currency if we want to continue in our adventure.
We can choose between 5 characters which have different attacks, both normal and special, also their characteristics in the gameplay are quite different, each of them has its end implying that we must finish with all of them if we wanted to know 100% Gunbirds, Apart from the fact that its ends are branched in two, it will depend on certain responses we give at the end of the game.
The music of Gunbird offers us a very good atmosphere, there is variety among its levels, something that I find excellent, but they are a bit similar to each other, despite this they achieve their goal, entertain us at every moment, their sounds are excellent for the game style, we will not tire of hearing our shots and explosions at all times.
It is one of the Vertical Scroll Shooter that enjoy more in the past, its excellent graphics, animations and music catches the attention of any gamer, it can be considered a challenge to finish it 100% due to its difficulty, although its levels can be with short, but I consider it fair because we inevitably die many times in the attempt, if you want to experience this great game the Arcade version is the ideal, I recommend it widely.
