in #gaming7 years ago

On August 27, 1955, one of the most watched books would begin to be reproduced annually, where different people around the world would be put to the test in order to stand out and be recognized for any skill, it is the Guinness Book of Records.

For many years several people try to have the honor of appearing in this acclaimed book, for some may be silly things, others may find it surprising, but it should not be denied that to be able to be in it you must have a great ability in any activity, for example, the human being who can hold his breath under water.

With time, video games managed to have the honor of being part of being able to be in this book, because every day many gamers performed activities or showed really impressive skills, making the community of world records interested in this, producing a special edition of video games.

That's how many people who heard about this edition of Guinness records showed a great vocation to overcome any challenge, such as spending a lot of hours playing non-stop. I'm sure you'd like to get to know some of these great feats, and I'll show you some of them below.

The Tournament with the most participants

For many years tournaments are held in various parts of the world where players demonstrate their skills to be number one, however, in 2013 would be organized one of the most amazing tournaments due to the number of participants, it was FIFA 13 organized by the company Electronic Arts.

This tournament would achieve something that in years past had never been seen, simultaneously played more than 2.5 million players, a truly impressive number, this made that event will remain in the book of Guinness records.

The largest collection of video games

In the last decade many gamers have been looking for retro video games and consoles to keep them in one place, either because they have a sentimental value from their childhood or simply want to have a complete collection of a certain console, however, there are people who want to have the vast majority of video games that came out in history.

Michael Tomasson was able to appear in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest collection of video games in history, with a total of 11,000 games and not counting their game consoles, this led to have a huge space where you could choose and play any of their titles, the dream of any collector.

It is worth noting that the record was surpassed by Antonio Monteiro who proved to have more than 20,139 video games, just thinking about the space you would need to have such an amount is simply impressive.

The best-selling video game

The objective of any company that develops video games is to be successful in the game they launch to the market, however, this is not an easy task to accomplish, there are an enormous amount of factors that can make their sales are massive or simply go unnoticed in time, but of all the games there is one that is the most sold of all time.

This is Tetris, a game that is recognized around the world, since its first appearance on the Game Boy became one of the most addictive and successful games of all time, managing to sell a quantity of 170 million copies around the world, certainly deserves to be in the Guinness Book of Records.
