Sand sculptures in The Hague
Despite the infamous weather in the Netherlands, there's a Dutch Riviera in Hague, it's called Scheveningen which is a district of the city. The beach is wide and sandy and it's a few kilometres long. On the passage along the beach, there are dozens of restaurants and facilities to entertain the visitors.
It was the first time I met with this street art: sand sculpturing and I was amazed by it. These huge pieces of art stand only a few weeks fighting the weather and mostly seagulls.
I hope that the photos I'm sharing can show you how monumental and detailed are these modern artworks.

Yes, when it's done they use some kind of 'fixing' stuff to last longer. Otherways the rain, the wind and the birds would destroy it in a few hours.
That makes sense, do you know how much they last?
Two-three weeks for sure. I took the photos at the end of May, and in the middle of June, they were still there.

Szia! Még sosem láttam sandart-ot közelebbről. Egy fesztiválon láttam, hogy löszfalba szobrászkodnak és már az is nagy élmény volt. Köszi, hogy megosztottad a képeket.
Talán az utolsó két kép ad némi támpontot a méretéhez. Én el voltam hűlve tőle.

Does this sculpture look a bit abstract?

Aztaaa! Ez nem semmi! Hogy a csudába csinálják? (osztva!)
Sajnos a munkát nem láttam, csak az eredményt. De megdöbbentő a kidolgozottság. Sárga homokból is láttam párat, a képeket a héten felteszem. A formázás után valamilyen permetet biztosan használnak, ami megköti és rögzíti a homokszemeket. Köszönöm a megosztást!
