Today's the second day of the 20 Day Superhero Challenge that I decided to do.

Favorite Superhero Movie [For Now] : Captain America The Winter Soldier (2014)

This is currently my favorite Superhero Movie for various reasons.

First off, the action sequences perfectly matches the musical score.
Even after watching it for several times I am still at the edge of my seat in every twist and turns of this film.

Secondly, the light comedy and the drama were placed right in the plot, enough to give you attachment to the story and the characters.

Another thing I love about it is that despite being a fictional story a lot of elements are realistic to the modern world.

I have a few more reason why this film is my current favorite but my number one is this:
It is capable of being a standalone film , which is the problem of other films out there.
If this film is the first MCU film that you've seen, you'll understand everything.
Even if you don't watch the other films, you'll be fine rewatching this as many times as you can.

Sort:

hmm.. superhero movie..

If i have to choose it would be The Dark Knight Rises (2008).

Simply because of Christopher Nolan's superb and near perfectionist directing. As you know, Christopher Nolan has a quirk where he absolutely hates CG. Almost everything you see in the film is shot on camera.. Even the city itself is designed by renting a large hangar.

Also, who can deny the acting beauty of this guy..

Heath freaking Joker..

the times he went off script and made something stunning is what made the movie in my opinion.

I'm not the type who enjoys a movie story but rather, i appreciate the subtlety of the set, the directing, the acting.. So my choice might be different from everyone else.

The Dark Knight 2008 was my favorite Superhero Movie before CATWS 2014 came out, so yeah I know a lot about the facts and trivia about it.
I do agree with a lot of your points, especially the part about the Joker, that is something other movies can never replicate.
The reason why it ended up eventually being my second favorite was because I felt a bit of disconnection towards certain characters, like I didn't care what happened to them. (Does that make sense? 😂)
I (will) always recommend TDK to everyone who ask me about watch next.
I guess CATWS has a certain level of attachment to me.

Thank you for your time! :)

Ok. Really great post! And btw it is impossible not to like captain america...
