Peter Thiel - Bitcoin Critics Are Underestimating It

Thiel Bullish on Bitcoin?

According to this article from Coin Desk, Peter Thiel (founder of PayPal, and investor of Facebook) appears to be pretty bullish on Bitcoin.

The key quote from the article being this one:

"underestimating [it] especially because ... it's like a reserve form of money, it's like gold, and it's just a store of value. You don't need to use it to make payments."

According to the article, Thiel previously said that he would be more bullish when he saw it being used more as a currency, but his latest remark seems to echo what many others are saying; Bitcoin is "digital gold".

Is It That Surprising?

I don't think it's that surprising that a libertarian like Thiel is in favor of the cryptocurrency, he is a member of the seasteading institute after all.

What I did find interesting is that he seems to have changed his mind about it after seeing how it is being used.

For more on that, you may like to read this article (if you haven't already), where the author talks about "HODLing".

Whatever you may think of him for backing Trump, leave it at the door please! I'm not getting into politics.

Thanks for viewing!

Bitcoin is a place to safely store your money from the government. Going to get divorced?
