Bitsparks Drops Bitcoin, Switches to BitShares
Bitspark Drops Bitcoin, Switches to BitShares
Bitcoin may be going on an absolute bull-run right now, but that isn't stopping businesses from shying away from using the currency due to high (and unpredictable) fees.
According to this article from news.bitcoin.com, Bitspark, a Hong Kong based remitance provider, has dropped Bitcoin and switched over to using BitShares.
"the startup says they are switching to Bitshares due to the high and unpredictable fees associated with bitcoin in 2017."
This sounds like a great piece of news for the BitShares network. The article also states that:
"Bitspark joins a list of companies that have recently chosen to use an alternative cryptocurrency instead of bitcoin due to fees and slow processing time."
The article goes on to mention Yours, Bitcart, and Brave/BAT as other companies that have switched blockchains recently.
Bad news for Bitcoin?
Probably not, as part my Quick Crypto Roundup suggested yesterday, Bitcoin is turning more into a store of value, rather than being used as a currency, So I doubt these kind of moves are going to affect the BTC price.
But what do you think? Let me know in the comments.
Yes on 'store of value'.
