What's your take to the matter?

Why do we feel defensive about Tron's acquisition of Steemit (company, domain, and a bunch of steem)? Is it really a threat to what we are building here in the Steem network, decentralized social media platform?
Without a doubt, the Steem networkis serving as a safe platform for people that wanted to express themselves without the fear of being censored or being shadow banned. Some even abuse this kind of freedom but I believe that the pros outweighed the cons of it. Bottomline, the steem network is a safe haven for everyone regardless of their race, place of residence, or even crypto holdings. Even Tron users are welcome to participate to any of the Steem Dapps and engage with Steem users, that's the amazing thing that this network has to offer to the world.
If that's so, why do we feel threatened by the statement from Sun regarding the migration of Steem blockchain (a complete misunderstanding) to the Tron network. We know that it's a discrepancy in Justin Sun's tweet and it's really frustrating on our part. Why don't they get it, Steemit is not Steem!
Let's step back a bit and ask, is it even possible? Well, it is possible since the Steem network is basically an open-source code, bunch of servers, nodes, and some frontends to display it. Everyone can simply replicate the Steem network in multiplicity.
But why didn't they (Tron) simply build a Steem-like Tron sidechain that will have the same functionality as Steem? It should be easy for them since the code is open-source and anyone can freely use it the way they wanted to.
What makes the Steem network unique? I think it's already obvious, the Community that's backing it. It is something that nobody else can acquire easily.
So, if we are a solid community that many of us are claiming it to be true then why are we so worried about it. Based on posts that I've read from Steem influencers, high level accounts, and some witnesses about their take on this matter, Tron's acquisition of Steemit doesn't necessarily undermine the decentralized nature of our network. In a bigger picture, the whole community still have the majority of the staked steem, much bigger than Tron's acquired steem asset.
The real question is, are we (the community) pro-active enough to counter any abrupt move by any centralized entity that might cause the destruction of our decentralized network?
