Let me share a soothing takeaway that I always enjoy especially during rainy days - the Ban Mian!

For those who haven’t heard about Ban Mian, it’s a noodle dish that is either served with the soup in it or have it as a dry version. For the dry version, there are two options for the sauce: a basic soy sauce or the spicy chilli sauce. I usually mix both sauces to have the best of both sauces.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to the Ban mian dish, from the basic Minced pork ban mian to the expensive Lobster ban mian dish. I went for the mid range price, the Scallop Ban Mian. The common ingredients among the dishes are: Ban mee noodles, scallions, dried anchovies, and minced pork with soy sauce.

For my overall rating of the dish, I’m very satisfied with the quality of each ingredients. All individual pieces are flavoursome and complimentary with each other. The only thing that didn’t meet my expectation is the scallop, which I feel is not really fresh and it’s a bit chewy.

On the plus side, I have to commend the meat balls. It taste fresh and soft. Compared to the other ban mian shops that I’ve tried before, this dish has the better meat ball quality.

The other that I want to commend is the soup, it has a subtle soothing flavour to it. It taste refined and natural. There are ban mian shops that provide a soup that is blande contrary to what this shop is providing.

KL Chilli Ban Mee is a simple shop that offer Ban mian as their specialty and they can absolutely take the spot as the best in town and I can attest to it.

This only is available in Asia. Wish we had this in Sydney!

I was told by a friend that the quality of seafood in Australia is better than Singapore. In that case, this dish should taste better there than here. Somebody should really bring Ban Mian to Sydney😊

That looks like a fancy take out, I bet it is delicious!

It's really good IMO😊
