In blockchain we Trust...

What's interesting about the blockchain technology is that it rely mainly with math instead of the central authority of an entity. In that way, the trust is obtained not because you have no choice but it is for the fact that there is immutability for every transaction that we do within the blockchain. Nothing or no one can alter the actions that we do here in steem.

Today, I was surprised by the memo that I received from @adyorka in which he said that "sorry for the duplicate post". It's because I have voted twice on his post which he claimed to be duplicated due to his internet issues.

This kind of experience also happened to me, although I couldn't remember which interface brought me this kind of issue; it was a long time ago. If I recall correctly, the interface failed to show my content after clicking on "post" button. The content stayed on the drafts window of the interface and so I thought that it failed to post the content. Because of that, I clicked on the "post" button once more and to my confusion, I have posted twice.

On that moment, I realize that I'm unable to delete the post nor modify the permlink since it's immutable. I was frustrated but quite amazed at the same time. It's also at that time that I realize how powerful this blockchain technology is. And the only thing that I can do at that point is to change the title and content of the post and explain how it went wrong.

If I didn't noticed the mistake until it payout (7th day), then I won't be able to modify any of it. It will stay forever that way and it's immutable.

So, going back to @adyorka's memo. I was impressed on his approach about what happened to his post. Not only that he quickly modify his post and explained what happened, he also sent out memos to the voters of the his duplicate post while returning the amount of vote that an account did to his post.

And with that, I returned the amount back to him as a reward for the honesty that he showed. I have also followed his account because he gained my trust as well.
