The European Union talks blockchain

And it's not all bad. I'd rather see they kept their sleazy fingers off the table, but that's me and bureaucrats. I hate them like I hate pestilence and plague.

I think we've heard this from various parties before:

First, the blockchain technology holds strong promise for financial markets. To remain competitive, Europe must embrace this innovation.

Not very original and roughly in line what the banksters say. For those with memory that last longer than a 15 min candlestick, the notion of not liking bitcoin but embracing the technology, is familiar.

Of course it contain the usual warnings on ICOs and consumer protection. Not all bad, but I get the feeling CONTROL is what it is really about.

It is strange to be in a uncontrolled environment and thrive. Yes, I thrive when I play around with my little cryptofolio. It's as transparent as ladies undies and I have stayed clear of the big mishaps. I don't really need any consumer protection.

Well that's my thoughts. You can get a glimpse what the European Union thinks by following this link:

Sort:

it is time that European Union starts to talk about crypto and blockchain technology ...at least they seems to be interested on

I'm sure they realize that the less regulated areas will get the upper hand if they don't.

That's good of you....Cheers!!!

I agree with you about the mixed feeling. In many things I'm a huge fan of consumer protection (food chemicals, international call prices etc.) but I love playing around in these wild west crypto times.
I read that the ECB doesn't want to regulate anything about cryptos, and they're not a lawmaker anyway.
What do you think would be the best approach for states towards cryptos?
(have you been following Estonia on the matter btw? Quite different from the rest of EU)

The governments like to treats us like children!
