How to gain followers. It's easy.

There are literally 1000s of posts on steemit on this topic. I don't really care that much, since I'm not an attention seeking person.

Don't try so much!

A click whore is easily recognized. There will be arrows pointing to -> join here. Personally o don't like it. I would rather follow someone writing on the molds sex life than the swimsuit models gangbang!

Be yourself!

If I wanted I could just switch back to Facebook and swim in shiny happy faces, vacation sunsets and endless fancy dinners. Everyone knows it's a facade. Why bother?

Don't steal!

The copy cats are everywhere. And finding your own stuff on someone else's wall makes you want to strangle the bastard. And repititious subjects just get annoying. Why the fuck wade in the same subject. It just guzzles bandwidth. And patience.

Be original!

A different spin on even the most trivial subject is more likely to catch on than the generic, degenerated fuckwit. It should be obvious, but I reiterate: originality is king.

Don't overstuff your article with bling!

The most annoying being gif animations. Second most annoying being stock photography or stock illustration. To underline a point, yes. But that requires careful selection. Back in the good old days, image editorial was a job that sometimes took more time than writing shit. It was downright painful to find something suitable among rolls of film and drawers of contact copies (yes I'm old, I know). It's admittedly easier these days but still. Bling is bling. And cheap as fuck.

That was easy, right?

No, it's not. But it tends to get easier after a while. As many other things in life, think-plan-do is a good rule. So is letting the creativity just go wild. A combination is killer.

I chose not to bog down this post with anything. Pure text, nothing else. I do it as a courtesy to you who read and look for something out of the ordinary.

I might also add there isn't many I want to follow. Simply because most try too much.
