Tell Our Asian Parents That We Love Them

It can be really hard for Asians to say ‘I love you’ in words to our parents.

It is not part of the usual culture even for parents to use spoken words to express their love for their children.

Parents and children often express such love by actions of helping or giving money.

I guess many Asians may believe that actions speak loudly than words but it can be a nice excuse as it really feels awkward for us to say those words to our parents.

I must say that I hardly even say those words to my wife lately and I should remind myself to do so more regularly.

I guess a family culture can be changed when someone chooses to start.

From awkwardness, it can become a natural expression between our family members.
