Rule by rules
In our society, we have lots of rules to follow.
We have family rules, school rules and even laws that state the rules of the country that we must abide by.
I was having my usual morning exercise with my son on Saturday and I saw many signboards around in the park.
Below were some of the signboards that I saw which I took photographs and collated them into one picture file..
The signboards, with different rules stated, inspired me to write about rules.
Class Rules
Most experienced teachers would tell you that they would always discuss about the class rules with their students on the first day of school.
With good class discipline, lessons can easily be conducted without disruption.
Teachers discuss the class rules with students to have everyone involved and come to a common agreement.
They decide on the class rules so they should abide to them.
I agree that there are rules that need to be flexible based on the situation.
If a student had a call on his mobile phone during lesson time, the rule is to take away the phone.
When the teacher finds out more, he may just discover that there is an emergency at home and the boy was told not to switch to silent mode by his parents.
In this situation, most teacher may just reprimand but they would not take away the phone as there is a valid reason for his action.
Rules must also be flexible as we are still human.
We can never be perfect.
Law and order
The law is established to ensure the safety of every citizen in the country.
It ensures fairness and everyone should be treated equally before the law.
Sometimes, we cannot follow the law set because of situation.
When we see a child falls into river accidentally but the law indicates no swimming in the river.
Would you avoid saving the boy because of the law?
Would you break the law because it is a life-and-death situation?
I guess most of us would choose the second as human life is more precious and very often there is also leniency of law for such brave acts.
The laws are still important to keep everyone safe from harm and unfair treatment.
Rules on the platform
I understand that not everyone likes rules but we need to face them every day.
Our favourite platform has rules that our articles should be original and we need to give credit to the photographs that we use.
These rules are there also because of the copyright law.
It is to safeguard the platform from getting trouble with the law enforcement.
For the benefit of the platform, we must abide by the rules so that everyone is equal and no special privileges.
Even all the discords that we join have rules to follow like not to post our links in the chat room.
In conclusion
Rules are there to ensure the progress of a country as oversea investors would definitely want to invest their money in a place that is safe and secure.
Even our platform has rules to ensure the proper growth.
We need rules for equality but rules should offer flexibility based on situation so that rules do not become too rigid.
