Redefine Success In Education
I am a Math Teacher in school but I do have students who just cannot solve Math problems regardless of how hard they may have tried.
I have been teaching the weakest classes for many years and many of my students had many disappointments especially in their studies.
I have told my students more than once that doing well in their studies is not the only way to become successful but the right attitude in learning regardless of the results.
In the above videoclip, a principal had been telling his students that they must do well in every subject to be successful in the future until a popular author, who was an ex-student, came to correct his misconception of success.
The popular author used to do badly in Math but she had a strong interest in writing.
The principal told her that she would not do well in future but she eventually understood that it was not true.
Education is not the only way to be successful and there are many successful people who are dropped out from school.
Education can provide more options of job opportunities but there are many ways that we can be successful these days even without proper education.
Teachers should provide the right mindset for our students so that they would be able to find success just by recognising their own strengths and talents.
