Recognition

Recognition is important regardless of adults or children.

When adults or children receive recognition through words or other means, it is definitely a positive reinforcement to continue their good performance.

One of my articles was featured by @ocd in its daily compilation #319 on the steem platform recently.

I had also posted the same article at whaleshares , weku and bearshares that promotes prevention of sexual abuse for boys.

This article was followed by an unexpected big upvote of close to $40 by @blocktrades.

I am also whitelisted by @ocd to use @ocdb bot which is great but I have not used any bot for my articles for a very long time and I don’t intend to.

I have been on the steem platform for about one and a half year and it was the first time that I was awarded such a big upvote based on the quality of an article.

This definitely is a great encouragement to anyone who ever receives one like this as it gives us the motivation to continue our journey of writing original articles.

The same goes to the corporate world as well as teaching students.

The head of the company or teachers should make an effort to give recognition where recognition is due so that such good performance can become role models to the rest.

By giving special bonus to our employees or giving certificates to our students, the recipients would not only feel good but they would have the drive to find ways to make things even better.

When the head always rewards fairly, each individual would aim to do their best in their respective roles rather than trying to find favour with their bosses through other means.

A good system of work review to evaluate work performance fairly should be transparent and impartial to all.

The bosses should be subjected to the evaluation of the staff through structured feedback sessions so that their own performance would be evaluated for the bonus they can receive rather than the standard ones so that they can be good role models.

Recognition is often neglected due to our hectic work schedule and we must make an effort to use encouraging words and body languages to highlight good performance.

When the staff is convinced that recognition is always given when good job is done, more would want to do well.

The engine of the organisation is our staff so quality staff is a crucial element to the success of the organisation.

When good performance is recognised fairly and systematically, staff performance would continue to improve and progress leading to the development of quality staff.
