Free from Racial Discrimination
Deliberation in using words to belittle other religion or feeling of other races can be an offence in many countries.
Singapore is made up of different races and racial harmony of the country is extremely important since it is a small nation.
Regardless of how high one’s position can be, the person can lose his/her job because of racist remarks.
Below is an article about an assistant director who was sacked for racist remarks.

Below is a video clip to encourage Singaporean to work towards building a nation that is free from racial discrimination.
We are the world
Singapore is not the only country that takes racial discrimination seriously.
The below is the website of United Nations Human Rights Office of the High commissioner.

We can clearly see that the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) was adopted on 21 December 1965 by the United Nations.
Most countries in the world aim to eliminate racial discrimination.
With a common aim regardless of race and religion, we can build our respective country positively.
We are all humans and there should not be a differentiation based on our skin colours or where we are from.
We can make great friends just like how we make many friends on the platforms and discords.
Take active steps
Knowing the need for racial harmony and doing it are two different things.
We may know it is right to do so but we may not do it because of various reasons.
The below brochure actually provides some ideas on what we can do.
https://www.mccy.gov.sg/~/media/MCCY-corp/Topics/Community/Files/ICERD_Brochure.pdf
- Speak up
There can be teachable moments when we encounter racist remarks or jokes.
We should speak up and let our words and actions impact those who have used words that can be hurtful to other races.
We do need courage to do what is right.
- Participate in Racial Harmony Day
Racial Harmony Day is commemorated yearly in Singapore to ensure our students and citizens are aware of the need for racial harmony.
On this day, many teachers may wear the traditional clothes of other races and there would be food of other races for students to try them.
Appreciating the culture and religion of other races is also an important aspect of racial harmony.
In conclusion
We must end racist jokes and stereotypes of negative comments.
There are many ways that we can promote racial harmony and eliminate racial discrimination through other active steps that are not mentioned in this article.
We must nurture our children to understand the importance of racial harmony so that we can build a gracious society.
We need one another regardless of race or religion.
Together, we can build the economy of our country and we build a better future for everyone regardless of country or race.
We can have the same attitude to build our favourite platform into the future of crypto-based socialisation that breaks the walls of race or country.
