Earn good upvotes through quality comments
I have recently been posting about making quality comments.
I will show some evidence before I proceed as a picture is worth a thousand words.
I can say until the cows come home but it may not be convincing enough until I show evidence.
Take a look at some of the screenshots that I captured using esteem below:-
I must admit that most of my comments may not always get upvoted but I still continue to make constructive comments regardless whether the authors upvote me. This is a way to show consistency and increase my reputation in the steemit platform. This is also a way to enhance the article and help with the platform.
Please do not start flooding my wallet or request me to make comments on your posts as I will usually only make comments when I have thoughts or comments that can add to the value of the article. This is just a principle that I follow and authors appreciate it. Building success takes time and consistency is needed to build trust!
I hope you are ready for me to share some insights of what you may be missing out when you are making comments on other authors’ posts.
One of the important points that you must first do is to give up totally on making useless comments like ‘good posts’, ‘well done’, ‘I like it’ etc These are really superficial comments that do not add value to the authors.
I will only make comments after reading the post and I will only comment when I can add value or I have my personal thoughts to it. Authors appreciate members who are genuine and do read their posts.
Appreciative authors will upvote comments that are good. When I make the right comments, I am also able to bring more members to upvote for them using my constructive and direct approach targeted directly to the content of post.
I am starting to receive invites from authors to visit their posts now. This is the result of giving the right comments and it has built my reputation and I am rewarded by upvotes as well as an increase of followers within a short period. You must consider that I am only in steemit about a month.
Give good comments when you have and don’t comment when there is really nothing you can say about the post. Don’t force out something that ends up backfires at you or worst when you get flagged for spammed comments resulting your reputation rate lowered.
Whether you want to make profitable quality comments really depend on your decision.
If you don’t know how, learn from other steemit members.
Can you imagine getting regular invitations from authors just to make constructive comments and they will upvote your comments as an appreciative act for your time to read their post?
It is really a win-win for both sides.
I can help to boost the number of upvotes with my comments for their posts and they also upvote my comments as they are grateful for my truthful comments.
Make the right comments and make it well today!
Start it right now and be determined to do so!
Don’t make loose comments and build great reputation now! Have a great steemit journey today!
Disclaimer: This post is based on my personal journey in steemit. I do not guarantee the same result for everyone as it really depends on the quality of your comments. Please do your own research and do not get offended with my frankness. I am sharing so that new members can use as a reference and do further research for greater growth.
I live on commenting as my own post barely cracks the pennies rewards. If it were not for the few who genuinely promote their work by continuously upvoting their commenters I would be out of steemit by now. I think to be a good commenter you need to know your audience and keep it as short but sweet. Dry humor or exact to the point is key. Big whales will give fractions of a % in upvote which is huge for minnows.
I hope to one day reach the level where some of the best bloggers continuously have a lot of followers. This is a goal every steemian should set out to do. Thanks.
We all work toward it. My day job is teaching young kids. Perhap my job does equip me with skills for writing as well as commenting effectively! An upvote for your constant support for my post!
Likewise ;) Thanks.
I also have made very little from posts that I have spent quite a bit of time writing. It is interesting reading other peoples posts and interacting with them.

I agree on all points you wrote about. I have also joined steemit very recently and have found out that quality of comments is of prime importance. This is the best long term strategy and also the most rewarding one ;)
Great to hear that you agree as well. An upvote for your comment.
I totally agree with you. Thanks for the tips. My upvotes are still zero value since I've been in steemit for only a few days. Substantial comments do add value to the post and engages people. It's wonderful that there authors who give invites for comments. I can totally do it if I can relate to the topic.
On my feed, I browse through countless of posts but can't comment anything at all because I don't understand the subject - particularly cryptocurrency. So, I'd rather not say anything at all!
You are wise not to comment when you don't understand. Perhap you can explore other topics like art tag. I get upvotes for my comments too when artists feel my comments are helpful!
@fun2learn this post is what people need
When i join steemit i actually started like that eg i like it, i love the post, nice post. But this hasn't taken me anywhere.
Steemians have to understand that commenting on a post is either contributing to the post or adding other opinions. When steemians do this and get the author attention by the contribution or opinion, they will definitely be upvote for it.
Useless comment won't count
Thank is so true! We must first build a good reputation and we can grow fast!

I believe main purpose should be adding value to steemit platform via comment or posting. Sometimes I push myself to vote or comment some post for rewards. But this is tiring and making me sick. I agree with you the true motivation is building trust and contribute if I have words. Thank you.
Building trust and friendship are important. By making good quality comments that build our reputation, it is not hard to have more people visiting our blogs too. I have nice authors who went to upvote my posts because of comments that I made on their posts. Thank you all the nice and generous authors!
